The story of the petrol-powered original Fiat 500 Electric starts as early as the 50s of the last century. The goal of the engineers at that time was to design a simple, inexpensive and functional vehicle for many people. The name refers to the displacement of the engine at the time – namely 500 cc. The cuddly Fiat 500 quickly conquers the hearts of many motorists throughout Europe. After more than two decades, Fiat nevertheless discontinued production of the vehicle in 1975.
Two years later, the car manufacturer launched the successor model. However, it cannot build on the success of its predecessor. In 2007, however, on the fiftieth anniversary of the original Fiat 500, Fiat launched a modern reinterpretation. This is becoming a real bestseller.
